NITRO 2023 PITCHER ALEC HERSHBERGER COMMITS TO TAYLOR

Nitro 2023 left-handed pitcher Alec Hershberger from Fairfield High School has committed to Taylor University. Hershberger was recruited by several D-1 schools, including Purdue, Ball State, Indiana State, Eastern Illinois and Valparaiso, but when it came down to it, “The coaches, the size of the campus, the facilities, the offer, and the closeness to home was too much to ignore,” according to Hershberger. Hershberger, an All-Conference, All-State and Prep Baseball Report Futures Games participant will leave his High School as the All-Time leader in career and single season strikeouts for Fairfield. The 4.0 student will major in Finance or Accounting at Taylor. Alec is the son of Ryan and Beth Hershberger.
