Coach Gonzalez graduated from McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, IN, where he played for four years and captured two sectional championships, a regional championship and a semi-state appearance. He was offered scholarships to play baseball at small colleges, but he pursued the workforce and decided to go straight into coaching travel baseball with McCutcheon.
