On August 16th, 2024, former Indiana Nitro standout and MLB Draft selection Niko Kavadas earned a call-up to the Los Angeles Angels after an impressive stint in the minor leagues. Prior to Kavadas’ call-up, he began the 2024 season at the AAA level, where he played for the Worcester Red Sox and Salt Lake Bees. During this time, he racked up 81 hits, generating 19 homeruns and 67 RBI’s all within a 91-game span. The Angels took notice of Kavadas’ production, and he has not looked back since. Just 6 days after making his debut with the Angels, Kavadas blasted his first MLB homerun, a 3-run shot in the top of the 9th inning against the Toronto Blue Jays. To date, Kavadas has logged 11 games for the Los Angeles Angels and looks to be a key piece in their batting lineup as the 2nd half of the MLB season continues.

Niko Cavadas was a 2017 grad from Penn High school in Mishawaka, Indiana. Prior to taking his talents to the University of Notre Dame in the fall of 2017, Kavadas contributed to an impressive 17u Indiana Nitro squad that produced 12 collegiate athletes. Kavadas made a strong impact on the field with the Indiana Nitro and continues to be a force at the highest level in professional baseball. Congratulations, Niko!
