Khal Stephen

Indiana Nitro adds another draft pick, as 2021 alum Khal Stephen was drafted in the 2nd round (59th overall) in the 2024 MLB draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. 

Prior to his professional career, Stephen was a 2021 graduate of Seeger High School in West Lebanon, Indiana. Stephen eventually earned a scholarship to Purdue University, where he spent his first two collegiate seasons. After the 2022-2023 season, Stephen transferred to Mississippi State for his final year of college baseball. During Stephen’s final collegiate season, he pitched 96 innings with an earned run average of 3.28. Stephen registered 107 strikeouts while only walking 21 batters. After a dominant 2023-2024 season, Stephen became a 3rd Team All-American and earned First Team All-SEC for the Bulldogs.
