Hunter Dobbins

Hunter Dobbins became the 2nd Indiana Nitro Alum in the 2021 class to earn a spot in professional baseball. Concluding the 2024 MLB Draft, Hunter Dobbins signed with the Detroit Tigers as an undrafted free agent. 

Dobbins was a 2021 graduate from Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana. Dobbins eventually earned a scholarship to play Division 1 baseball at Ball State University, where he would play for the Cardinals from 2022-2024. After an impressive 2022-2023 season behind the plate, Dobbins earned a spot on the 2023 Mid-American Conference All-Defensive Team. During his final season at Ball State, Dobbins played in 59 games, registering 18 homeruns, 17 doubles, and 59 RBI’s. Dobbins was named to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team concluding his final season in Muncie.
