Jared Poland, a RHP from Louisville and a former Indiana Nitro player, was drafted in the 6th round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Miami Marlins.
Poland went to Louisville as a two way player, and ended up being the Cardinals’ Friday Night Starter. The 2nd Team All-ACC performer appeared in 17 games this season for Louisville, posting 103 strikeouts in 83 innings, with a 3.46 ERA. He is a member of the exclusive #NitroGasClub, with his FB having topped at 97 mph.
Poland is from Fishers, IN and graduated from Cathedral High School in 2018. His Cathedral team played in two IHSAA State Championship games, winning it all in 2017 and runners up in 2018. He is the son of Chris (Indiana Nitro Director of Operations) and Anna Poland.
