The 2025 season will be Coach Mike Birsa’s fifth year in the Indiana Nitro organization. He attended St. Laurence High School in Burbank, IL, and went on to play collegiately at Northern Illinois University. He earned NCAA All-Region honors his senior year and All-Conference honors his junior and senior seasons. While earning his degree after his college career, he was a graduate assistant for Kishwaukee Community College, coaching catchers and working as the team’s hitting instructor. He played until the age of 30 with a Chicago-based team named Prairie Gravel. He has spent the last six years coaching youth baseball. He resides in Fishers, IN, with his wife, Carla, and two children, Nathan and Logan.
